Day One: Cochin
Upon your arrival in Cochin, you will be met by a representative at the airport and transferred to your hotel.
Day Two: Cochin
Begin your sightseeing tour by visiting the Dutch Palace, Jewish Synagogue, St Francis Church and Santa Cruz Basilica. While driving along the coastline, see the unique Chinese fishing nets which were introduced by the Chinese traders in the 14th century.
Day Three: Cochin to Munnar
After breakfast, depart the hotel to Munnar, a Royal resort lazily nestled in the verdant slopes of tea country. In the afternoon, visit a tea plantation and museum in this quaint little town that exudes a rare old world charm and is strangely reminiscent of the days of the Raj in its elegant splendour.
Day Four: Munnar to Periyar
Travel to Periyar (approx 4 hours) and transfer to your hotel for an overnight stay. This afternoon, take a 3-4 hour nature walk through this paradise, an opportunity to observe the animals and birdlife roaming the jungle, including herds of elephant coming to bathe in the lake.
Day Five: Periyar to Kumarakom
A morning drive, via a spice plantation, to the backwater resort of Kumarakom. On arrival, board your personal houseboat for an overnight journey. The houseboat cruise takes you through the intricate maze of backwaters, mesmerizing and suprising at every turn with its serene beauty and simple charm.
Day Six: Kumarakom
Cruise back to the resort of Kumarakom on the banks of Vembanad Lake. Here majestic canals, streams and distributaries weave an enchantingly beautiful web. Transfer to your hotel for a two night stay.
Day Seven: Kumarakom
The day is at your leisure to enjoy Kumarakom at your own pace.
Day Eight: Kumarakom to Cochin
After breakfast, depart the hotel to Cochin airport for your onward flight or transfer to Kovalam for a relaxing beach stay.

"Hi Maddie, just letting you know the [Classic Kerala] trip was AMAZING! The boat is usually for honeymooners I think, with a double jacuzzi, but the staff were lovely, food was interesting and simple Keralan food (heaps of it) and the views along the waterway fantastic, you must do it! Marari is also very good, yet another aspect of India to absorb!
